Cut-price Tablet gets off to a flyer

Following last week's so called soft launch, Google has run out of stock of the 16GB Nexus 7 on their own Play Store.

Despite its lack of media support, the tablet has been flying off the shelves as the first Jelly Bean supported tablet bids to cut in to Apple and Samsung's dominance in the market.

The 8GB version, currently exclusive to the Play Store, is showing as available to order with a 3-5 day lead time but the 16GB model is listed as coming soon with the option to sign up for email notification as units become available.

Tesco Direct is also out of stock after offering discounts on the Nexus but it's currently showing as in stock at Currys, PC World, Ebuyer and HMV.

Seems like the launch wasn't quite as 'soft' as some were expecting.
