Cheapest i've seen for a 42" plasma.
Ive seen one in action.............awful
I don't think you even need to see one in action to know it's going to be awful.
Goodmans + 42" + £999 =
for a few quid more a pw6 is great
Without making any argument in favour of the Goodmans (or indeed the Tiny, which is also £999), how on earth do you call £550 a 'few quid more' than £999? It's over 50% more!
I got mine pw6 for £1400, ok its more than a few quid but the picture is excellent and i would rather pay that( which isnt that bad a price) than waste £1000 on a very inferior plasma.
RS also have DAEwoo 42" at £999 give it 6 months and reasonable units will be £1300 Panny (and distributors) need to off-load all of the left over PWD6 stock first.....
I got one from Freemans - currently £999 but new customers get 20% - bringing a 42" Plasma TV down to 800 quid!
And depite the detractors, personally I think it's a bloody good picture.
Makro had a SWISSTEC one for 699 +VAT before Christmas and have to say, the picture on that, instore, was absoutley superb, even comparing it to much more well known makes. I ummed and ahhed about it - and by the timeI decided I wanted it, of course everywhere had sold out
Check ebuyer - they have a load of plasmas at less than £999 ...
if you look the pw6 is less, think ive seen pw6 at around £800.00
£999 is what I've just paid for a PWD7.
I know it's not a 'TV', but I own a freeview tuner & wouldn't use built in speakers anyway.
please note the original thread is from December 2004 well over 12 months ago, prices havent fallen that much have they.........
Just goes to show how far goodmans have come in terms of PQ!!
