I have recently purchased the Goodmans GHC50 5.1 home speaker system to go with my Panasonic RV41 DVD player which has a built in 5.1 decoder. I thought this option was a good cost effective method to get Dolby digital 5.1
The system seems to work generally quite well producing good sound effects. However when deep bass occurs in a movie such as T2, the subwoofer lets out distorted sound.
What I would like to know is this normal when going for a cheaper package without a receiver? would l be best taking the lot back and going for a amplifier kit such as the Sony HTK- 475.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
