Good System for the kitchen

I am looking for a good systyem for the kitchen to play cd's and has a decent radio (DAB not required due to apalling reception). A micro or all in one is ideal as space is a premium. Any recommendations? There is no budget - just want someting decent. Is there an alternative to a Bose system?

I use a JVC EX-A1 micro in my kitchen - fits inside a standard open wall unit. It sounds good, and is also a DVD player.

Another alternative is Denon DM-33, good sounding especially using the Mission made speakers. When the bypass switch is selected, the sound becomes even more details and balance.

The Denon DM series are very good - I've got a DM31, with Mission-made speakers, in my study. The ultimate performance is a bit better than the JVC I use in the kitchen, but kitchens have 2 problems which stopped me getting another Denon to use there - acoustics and space.

Most kitchens are very bad acoustically, full of hard surfaces.
Space is limited, especially if you want to keep your sound system off the work surfaces. The Denon won't fit in a standard wall unit.

I decided that I would sacrifice some sound quality (probably wouldn't notice with the bad acoustics) for a more compact unit.

Bought a Bose wave system but took it back for a refund as I thought it was overpriced for the sound.
Have ordered a Soundworks 740.
