This is Aussie site for UK Co. "http://www.justlamps.com.au/index.html", sure you will find UK link here, suppliers of projector lamps only, pretty smart site to say the least.

Does anyone still use www.pricejapan.com ? Maybe they'd be worth getting a quote for the lamp?

    Hi,
Thanks for the sites. I am not sure of the way the bulb went. When I turned on lamp I could here a click sound from projector. Turned round and no light coming from it. The light never started just did not come on. Is this what happens when a bulb finishes because of hours or would it be more of a fault.
Worried to spend £250 and bulb go staright away,

    Phill

Did you get any flashing LEDs?

The pj should flash it's LEDs in a certain pattern and the meaning can be determined from the manual - there's a specific pattern for lamp failure.

Have you retried it since it went?

    Gary.

Bought a bulb for my HS10 from Price Japan a few months ago. Good price and it arrived within a couple of days.

    Hi Gary,

I have tried since a few times. What happens is the lamp makes normal starting noise without lamp coming on and the light that flashes is the "Status" light. It tries this 3 times and then the "Status" light then goes red.
I have moved house and cannot find brochure, I should download manual.

Any idea Gary, the lamp light does not flash at all.

Much appreciated help before spending few hundred quid,

    Phill

    Gadget

What colour is the status light that flashes when you first switch on?

Are any other lights on after the 3 tries? "Power" or "Lamp Indicator" if so what colour?

    Clint.

You could always take the lamp out and re-seat it if the above codes point to the lamp or lamp door in any way.

It's easy to do - one screw allows the lamp door to be removed, and then there are two screws which allow the lamp to be removed. Just pull on the little handle.

While you're in there, you will see the colour wheel. Use a cotton bud (q-tip) and gently wipe the wheel. You may see some residue come off onto the tip. If you do, gently clean the whole wheel. This residue does build up over time on some DLPs and can reduce light output. Cleaning the wheel will restore some added light if it's a thick build up that's reducing light transfer.

    EDIT.

Just realised we both posted at the same time, so I didn't see your reply to clint. Have you put the lamp back and tried it again?

    Gary.

    Cheers Gary,

I took out bulb and replaced. While at the same time with windows open making room cold, it is in a warm room. Still will not light. It does the 3 times every time. Going by the sheet you thankfully sent it says the problem is a power failure. Have not got a clue what that will be. I suppose the pj will have to be sent somewhere now for repair on pwer failure.

Any ideas where I should send it, dont know any where around here, (Wrexham)

    Cheers Gary

PS. Did see colour wheel and will clean that today, cheers again

    Hi Gadget,

Contact NEC direct and if it's less than three years old, they should be able to arrange collection, repair and delivery for you - all free of charge I believe..
