I have been using a Toshiba TDP-S8U projector as my home theater projector for about 6 months now. I am ready to buy a screen, but have no clue what the best is for it, (matte, grey, etc.) I know it is a business projector, but its been doing fine for how I use it, just want a decent screen now. Thank You!! Here are the specs:

    Brightness - 1800 ANSI
    Contrast - 2000:1
    DLP
    800x600 Native

Hi! I have a few questions for you to consider:

1 Can you control the ambient light level? What time of day will you be using the projector?

2 How far from the screen will you be sitting?

3 What will you be watching? Off air, dvd, pc?

4 What kind of screen would you prefer? Most people will be using front projection but would you prefer Pull Down, Pull Up, Electric or Fixed Frame?

Those are a couple of things to consider. The most important is budget! How much? Most people try to save money on the screen thinking that it doesn't matter. I can make a good projector look terrible by using a poor, cheap screen. On the other hand, a good screen can often make a mediocre projector look excellent!

yes I can control the ambient light level through dimmer switch and good window blinds

I will be sitting about 12-13 feet from the screen

The screen size on my wall right now is 72inches wide and 52inches tall

I watch satellite tv (4:3) and dvd movies

I would like a fixed frame screen, but they seem really expensive compared to the pull down screens - If I buy a pull down screen it will never be pulled up, I would want to keep it down all the time
