Who on the web can supply a good quality 10M set of component cables for about £50 or so and allows online ordering with Visa payment ?

Any ideas ?

Hello,
I found a company called VDC they supply the BBC with cable so they are OK. I bought 20M of Van Damme component cable for £74. I can't remember the website but if you type VDC on a search.

Its nearly impossible to find somewhere, or so it seems

Have checked loads of cable suppliers and either they do not take visa or dont to component cables :(

Anyone else out there have any ideas ?

CPC don't do online, but they do telephone ordering if that's any good

There are a few options, but be aware that orders under £30+VAT attract a handling/shipping charge of between £3-5 (used to be £6 I think).

Profigold RGB component lead

AV04615 - 10m - £28.22 (it retails as the PGV339, usually for £70 - Superfi, accessorystore... etc)
May as well add something else on as well for a few quid to avoid the £3 postage charge (order one of the cables below - essentially it's free :) )

Alternatively, try

AV02031 - 10m single RG59 (75ohm) phono-phono lead with metal GP plugs - £2.92 each, just order 3, and add £5 for postage.

Tel No is 08701 202530, and prices are plus VAT!

BTW, 10m is a long way - how big's your room ? :)

To run the cable from the DVD player at front of room to the PJ at the back is a total distance of about 8.5 meters - however just in case I ever move of need to change the way I route the cable I have decided to go for 10M

Before I buy I was just trying to find as many people who sell the cable as possible - but it seems that not many do :(

Bought mine from a Hi fi shop in oldham.....chord co. 10M
120 quid.....there is already a thread on this. They are happy to take credit card payment. More expensive than you wish, but if its any use to you , I will post the shop and number. Should point out that I bought PJ and screen at the same time, so they may have put together a deal.

Thanks for that - can someone give me there opinion on the following leads from lektropaks please ?

The first is a 10M cable set which is part of there HOME CINEMA range and sells for £33.00

The second is from there more upmarket PROLINK range and for a 10M set for around £72

Is the extra money worth it ?

RE VDC

You can place the order on-line and then they phone you for the creditcard details.

Who will?

Media Factory only take cheques. Or they would if I could place an order, I rang them over a week ago, told them what I wanted, and they never got back to me with a price.

At some point I'll get around to ringing them again, they may have written down my phone no. wrong. possibly!

The Media Factory only buy in from Van Damme and put there bit on top as I found out, buy direct from http://www.vdctrading.com/ ,you place the order on-line and then a sales rep phones you for your creditcard number.

I disagree. Their standards are up there with the best, yet some companies charge four or five times as much. I think £75 for a 10m 3xRCA>3xRCA component cable (which works just as well as 3 x £20 1.5m jobs) is entirely reasonable, especially as they are custom made to measure.

Well, they are probably no worse than many other places, but that's no excuse for some blatant rip-off pricing IMO.

If you think they represent good value, then buy them.
I have no problem with that - your choice.

I'm stating they aren't good value overall.
Anyone taking a casual glance through the standard series for instance will soon (I hope) realise that the prices are extortionate , typically beween 5-10 times more expensive.(and there's delivery on top too, cheeky gits)
These are nothing more than the cheapo freebie interconnects - the AL7 is the best IMO, 10m for £16.50.
You can get the same thing from CPC for £1.38+VAT.

Still, if you think that's value, fine, but I don't :) :p
