Does anyone know of a decent music database like the Internet Movie Database (IMDB.COM) ?

I finds this to be an excellent source of info and would like to know if theres something similar for music ?

Thanks for that. The first link is just what I was after.

I've just compiled a list of dvd's I need to complete my collection (rather than my current approach of buying whats new/cheap)

I'm about to compile a similar list to complete my cd collection, so that whenever I see anything on the list cheap, I will buy !

How do you complete your CD collection ? Do yo mean a point in time when everything after that is of no interest? Just sounds a bit weird.

Are you just collecting recommended albums or particular pieces your familiar with?

Or maybe your just going to buy everything on the database  If thats the case we should keep in touch :smashin:

You're right it will never be complete , unless the missus has her way :thumbsdow

Which isn't going to happen :smashin:

I suppose what I'm doing is trying to get all the albums I used to listen to on cassette, vinyl at mates houses etc that aren't in my collection, that I've perhaps forgotten about. Put them on a list and go about buying them over the next year(s)?.

Trying to stop myself impulse buying stuff I might like when I know there are things out there I do like which I haven't got.

 to get this in a nutshell......"to organise my buying habits so I can get more of the music I really like, while secretly still impulse buying anyway" :smashin:

Nett result, you will just end up with more albums than you would have if you had just been impulse buying...................hey, but thats good  I do that :smoke:

As I thought, if you want even more fun you should start buying the 12" liquorice pizzas again...decent turntable and away you go. Hours of fun browsing secondhand record and charity shops for mega cheap deals and you get the original albums with luvly artwork and proper sound, unlike some of the poorer transfers to cd...........sorry Im preaching again

Cheers for that. It is quite useful and quite amusing, trying to get between my favorites in the minimus number of clicks. Must be sponsored by amazon though!
Karkus, may also just have persuaded my to invest in a turntable, get that vinyl out of mi dads loft!
