Thanks to all the advice. I had the home trial of Lyngdorf via Tom and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Sonically it just presents the music without any of the colouration that I’ve heard in other amps, everything is clear and precisely defined. One of my favourite test tracks for bass extension is the intro to Hyperballad by Bjork, previously I had to turn up the volume pretty high to hear every note, but with the Lyngdorf it was just there at a reasonable level, perfectly presented.

It has also meant I can at last get rid of the ageing AirPort Express I was using for airplay and the DAC for the cd transport. A bonus was the quality of the phono stage that I wasn’t expecting.

Again thanks for the advice and for Tom sorting out the home trial.
