    Why is that double sided?

Just bought it on DVD, already had it on VCD but didn't like having to swop the disk's so bought it on DVD. And what happens after halfway? Turn the disk over.....

This was one of the early R2 dvd releases. I have 2 "flippers" as they're called: Starship Troopers (but now have the superbit version too:D ) and Jackie Brown.

now theres a word i havn't heard in a long time 'Flipper'. Thank god they disappeared, i had about 5 of them to start with when dvd first came out, some of which have now been re-issued, some not. Films on flipper that i had were Goodfellas, Armageddon(aweful disc, non anamorphic) Face/Off, The Rock and the name of the other escapes me. But no matter how cheap you see a 'flipper' disc avoid it, getting up half way through the film is just nasty, and then there are the people that complain about layer changes, they dont know how lucky they are, getting the whole film on one side watching it on their £50 supermarket special player.

Das Boot R1 original release is a flipper. Probably one of the only discs I'm glad that's a flipper. By that time you'll defently need a toilet break!

I have the Wild Bunch on a flipper disk which is a pain but at least it is at a quieter point in the film. I so desperately want Goodfellas and was tempted to get it in the HMV 3 for £20 but i am just managing to hold out for the new special edition whenever it arrives, please be soon as i need this excellent gangster movie

I'm ashamed to say I'm an owner of a flipper 'Mary Poppins!!

Well actually I can blame the kids for that one - stuck with it now anyway as they've outgrown it:rolleyes:

I have only one flipper (I sound like a disabled turtle...) Dead Presidents which I bought despite knowing it's a double sided disc because I gave up waiting for a non flipper version to be issued. That probably should have been a shorter sentence.

Any one have a non flipper version of this film?

'Ben Hur' is also a flipper, but it's done right at the point where there used to be an intermission at the cinema.

So that's all right then (I keep telling myself!)
