    Hi guys.

Bought a clearance Samsung PS42P2SBX from currys today.

    Cost me:

    Plasma: £971.97 -10% (£97.20)
    Coverplan: £189.00 -10% (£18.90)

So cost me £1044.87 alltogether including a 3 year coverplan.

Came with media box, external speakers, table top stand, remote, etc. all boxed and pretty much as new. Could only see one small scratch on bezel.

What do you reckon for that price, good deal or not. I know its not the best plasma out there and its starting to get a bit old but surely for under £900 for the plasma and bits thats pretty good.

Your opinions please, and if any one else has this panel, got any tips/settings you'd like to share.

    Cheers

    Steve

Was this a display model? Check it VERY carefully for screen-burn - i.e not just a "once-over" but really study it. Play something like the opening of Ice Age and pause over the really white parts...this shows up screenburn a treat.

I'm sure that's model i nearly got just over a year ago when it was over £2500 , i went for an LG instead. If it cost you £1000'ish it's a great price. Their not the highest rated screens by any means but for most normal watching on a large screen i'd say excellent value IMO.

Smurfin: Yeah, was a display model. Doing a proper check tomorrow with some dvd's for screenburn, before it's boxed up and delievered.

Panic: Yeah i seem to remember places were selling just the panel with no extras for about £2K ish, seems to be pretty good for the money.
