Can anyone recommend me a good cd player?

I've heard that most cd players outperform DVD players in terms of music cd sound quality.

Marantz, DENON, SONY, NAD or ROTEL ??
(NAD may be too expensive for me. )
And......ah when I connect CD player to my amplifier, do I use "optical/coaxial" or analoge connection?

    my system setups are :

    Amp : DENON AVC-A1SE

    DVDP : Pioneer DV-737

    MAIN SP : B&W CM4

    Center : B&W CMC

    Surround : B&W CM2

    Surround Back : B&W DM601 S2

    Thank you in advance.

I'm a Pioneer 737 owner, and find it to be pretty good at CD's. Is there some way in which you think your 737 is deficient?

Of course, you could improve on it, if you want to spend mega-bucks on a dedicated CD player, but, I'd suggest that the Pioneer will perform as well as the majority of upper-mid-market dedicated CDs.

Besides, when running through an AV amp/receiver there might not be much difference anyhow - if at all. IMHO a wasted investment with your current DVD player.
