4XWharfedale Diamond 8.1 or 8.2 or 4X Tannoy MX2's. Which is the best all rounder for Music and films please.

    Regards Trevor:confused:

Both speaker models are very good. I can't speak for the Warfs as I haven't heard them, just read various fevourable reviews. I own a pair of M2s which are excellent in detail resolution and wideness of soundstage. I love 'em and I understand the MX2s are slightly better. hope that helps a bit.

hmmm if your current speakers are cheap Eltax's or something found in Cash Converters then go for the Tannoy or Wharfdales... but Kef Q1's are around the same quality, maybe better.

Why not buy another set of Q1's?

No cash £250 a pair for the Kef. I can get 160 to 170 for my Kef and get four of either for £200.

    Regards Trevor

If you like the Kefs then buy another pair or two.

I currently use a pair of Diamond 8.1s in my flat with no centre speaker (had the centre but it just sounds better without it). I think they're great but I only use them at low to medium volumes to keep the neighbours happy. Whichever one you chose its worth spending £60-80 on some decent stands if you haven't already.

I use a CC-350 in my main system and think it's great although not very pretty. I bought a pair Paradigm Monitor 5 floorstanders on ebay for £40 (£200-300 new) which use the same drivers as the 350. I'm very please with them and favour them above the Missions (77c and 774) that they replaced. Probably going to stick with Eltax rears for now and bass is provided by a Rel Storm.

If it were me....i,d keep your Kef's,(if you like them dont sell them). It shouldnt be too hard to find some second hand speakers to compliment them.I've got rid of old kit in the past, that i really like, only to replace it with something newer but not as nice.
    Have you considered any Missions?

Save up and buy another pair of Q1's. I can't understand why you want to sell the Q1's and buy a two pairs of lower quality speakers. IMO the Kef's are better than Missions of a similar price.

OMG don't sell your Kefs I Had Tannoy Mx1s which I thought were good until I got my Q1s. There is no way that the Tannoys can do anything other than reduce your listening pleasure.

I agree with Nathan (might be a first :) ) get somthing for surround duties and hold onto those kefs

Why not keep the Q1s and get a pair of Cresta 1's for the rear? Should be around £50 from Richer Sounds (assuming they still have some)
