Some people would rather not see a 1.33:1 film massacred in a 2.2:1 version :nono: :suicide:  :rtfm: etc

You could have just searched imdb to find out the technical details before commenting about it. But it's probably easier to keep in mind that (almost) everything before 1954 was shot in 1.33:1 (actually it's 1.37:1).

All of this does rather assume that you want to see the film in the first place. I can never quite get past the idea that the general theme is a bunch of rich slave owners getting their long-overdue come-uppance, with a central character who is a spoilt bitch.

There, I had to say it, and before you flame me, it's a personal reaction only; loads of people love this movie and fine, it's a free world. My mum loves it and I'll get it her for Christmas. Thanks for the tip on the price.

Can i just make one thing clear, I dont like the film (the wife loves it). I never want to see it again, Once was enough. I just wondered why it was in 4:3, I wish i'd never asked now, I didnt think asking a question about a film was such a crime, I'll know next time not to bother !!!! :censored:

And in essence it is, but that doesn't mean to say it can't be an enjoyable movie.

"Scarface" is about a thoroughly unlikeable scumbag getting his "...come-uppance..." "Goodfellas" is about a bunch of murdering thieves getting their "...come-uppance..." "Taxi Driver! is about a murdering sociopath, not getting his "...come-uppance...".

Doesn't mean to say they aren't good movies.

Conversely something like "Maid in Manhattan" is 2 hours of nice people doing nice things, and as a movie it sucks on runny eggs.

i Received mine this morning from CdWow, I didn't have a clue it was coming because the didn't send a email telling me it was dispatched ?

The packaging is really nice, the gold Gone With The Wind on the front and side is embossed and it comes with a really nice aged copy of the original booklet.

Now i just need 3-4 hours to watch it

What sort of packaging does it come in?i.e.is it cardboard wrapped.or even worse,in cardboard with those crappy disc-holders stuck on?

I've decided never to buy any disc ever again unless it's in an Amaray-type case. What's the point in buying a disc which can last years if the packaging gets ripped taking the cellophane off?It may mean I will never buy some films I'd like to own,but at least I won't feel ripped off by film companies who deliberately use cardboard just con me into buying a film again when the poor packaging has rendered my disc faulty.

As this release is out in February I might wait to see which release has the most durable packaging.

All I'm saying is look at a film on imdb then go to technical details et voila.
