Can't you just thank on that site?!
I would have preferred Goldfinger.
love this one
The Listing is on Play's site, but there's no artwork and no details either, so it's all very much a "work in progress" at the moment. See the listing here for those of you who are interested.
Play have a Facebook comp related to this (Play.com - Play.com Competitions | Facebook)
Which I started a post about on the 7th of this month
Yep. Big thanks to play.com
So GoldenEye got the most votes in that poll (closed 10th Aug)
- the GoldenEye comp was only posted by Play on Facebook in the last two days
I don't think someone in marketing knows what unanimous means (seeing as you voted for Living Daylights & Licence To Kill)
Will defo get this as it's one of my fave Bond films.
Has to be the uncut version though as I seem to remember importing an Australian DVD years back because the UK version had several cuts
The last UK DVD release WAS uncut, so there's no reason to believe that the new UK Blu-Ray won't also be uncut.
Here's the artwork for this one...
So you've basically just slapped the movies poster on the front, job done. The image on the back should have been Famke Janssen on top
Personally, I wish a whole lot more of them just had the movie poster slapped on there.
I really don't see the point of this at all (unless you are secretly planning on releasing all 22) especially as the 22 film box set is out soon.
Then again I remember a post from Chad about the three Transformer steelbooks being released on Play and they seem to have settled for just the first now.
I reckon they're just testing the water with one of the less popular films. If it sells well then the classics are gonna fly off the shelf!
If they make it so that all of the spines lined up in the right order spell out 007 then people aren't gonna be able to resist collecting the lot (myself included!)
That really would be a tempter.
I could resist, most Bond films are utter balls ! Lol
Well I dont know about utter balls but I could easily resist as I simply dont want to own all of them - half of them at a push, probably less than that really. We've all seen them loads of times on TV so everyone knows which ones they really want to see on blu and which ones will just sit there....
One of the less popular films? Play.com ran a poll on Facebook to see which Bond film people wanted most in the Steelbook format and this was the winner.
Yeah surprising that this one won the poll. Maybe the Brits like Pierce Brosnan than the rest which is a bit weird as I thought Sean Connery or the rugged Daniel Craig are the best Bonds.
The artwork looks rubbish. Going to look even worse if this one is matte finished.
I think it has more to do with the average age of Facebook users who vote on polls. I'm 33 and grew up with the Connery and Moore films, kids on Facebook are more likely to have grown up with Dalton, Brosnan abd Craig so it's probably not a fair poll.
There are way better Bond films than Goldeneye I'm sure most of you'll agree, although I admit it's far from the worst. Somewhere in the middle I'd put it (it hasn't even got a British car in it lol).
Also did the Facebook poll give a choice of all the films or just a select few?
What about the Aston Martin DB5 thats British
I forgot about that doh, I was thinking it only had the BMW in it. Whoops
Do these kids voting even buy blurays? ;-)
Goldeneye is easily the best brosnan bond and the only brosnan bond id buy in fact.
100% agreed on the first point (by such a wide margin - feel a tad sorry the material he got to work with in the rest of his films was poor) and 90% on the second
Here's the inside artwork...
I should add that this one is going to pre-order any minute now!
I'm good thanks.
It should have been Goldfinger. The case could have been pure gooooold, with what's her face draped across the front.
