Gold plated Aerial Cable

Active Member
Does the gold plated expensive Aerial cable better then those standard non-gold plate aerial when pluged between the aerial and TV please? Or it does not make a different so I should not waste the money to buy a overpriced cable?

As nobody else has jumped in -
i think that good quality coax cable such as :

F and TV plugs and leads connectors
high quality wf100 with conectors £3.49 for a m cable - there's a video showing you how to make your own if you want it even cheaper.

If you have a TLC near you they stock foam filled coax for £0.39 per m with a few plugs and a soldering iron sorted.
Black Foam Filled Digital Satellite & Aerial Cable

90% of your cable will just be standard coax, adding a bit of gold plating to the last meter won't really help, just get good screened cable such as wf100 or pf100.

also try to get the shortest possible cable to avoid extra interference

ah - and also make sure your wall plate is screened
Hope this helps
