    Hi peeps.
Been putting off for forever but I’m finally gonna go 4K. The Oppo news pushed me into action.
Currently have a Panny VT50 55” with a Lumagen Mini3D which is still very very good. For Blu-rays I have an Oppo 103MR which has been flawless and plays everything.
Mainly watch Blu-ray box sets or Netflix/Fire TV also have a Virgin V6 box.
Game a lot - PS4 Pro - long sessions 6hrs straight sometimes. The Division, Borderlands 2, so burn in a worry.
Sit about 8-9ft from the telly which is on a stand.
Room has a long window, although TV is at right angles to it and we have blackout vertical blinds so can make room dark if needed. Sun not an issue.

I just bought an Oppo 203 MR in preparation for 4K whilst they’re still available. Apart from this impulse purchase I’m in research mode now and will weigh up all the options before I do anything. The new Oppo can sit in the cupboard unopened until I’m ready.

My Avr is an Anthem 710, so I will be offloading this with the Oppo 103, VT50 and Lumagen to go towards an Anthem 720.

TV wise looking to go 65” budget £2K. Open to all recommendations as I say it’s mainly blu-rays/Netflix plus long gaming sessions and occasional Virgin TV prog. Footie too.

OLED excites me but 6hr gaming sessions usually same games, HUD’s etc. may be a no-no I guess.

Don’t need a speaker/soundbar arrangement with the TV.

Sony XE93 seems to be mostly sold out now so I'd go for the XE90.

Other than that you drop overall quality with the Samsung Q7 which is the next suggested model I'd look at.

Like the look of the XE93 but as you say seem to be like rocking horse poo. The ZD9 looks to tick all the boxes but a grand or so more than I wanted to pay. Might wait and see what happens price wise as I’m not in a rush.

Just watched Steve Withers review of the ZD9 and looks a winner. Found one for £2499 with 5yr warranty from Simply Electricals something to think about.
I find it odd the LG B7/C7 always do well in the gaming tv reviews or am I being paranoid about image retention/hud burn in?

Both my OLEDs are used for casual gaming by my children. No burn ins.
    Just take regular breaks

If you are worried and you Game a lot than go for the best lcd you can. Otherwise you will always worry.

That’s kinda what I’m thinking. I’m sitting here as we speak with the rolling bar on my panny erasing the Destiny HUD!
I’ve found an XE93 in stock sounds like the last one in existence so may well pull the trigger.

It's a nice tv to consider, I've looked at it and it's a bit brighter than the XE90 for HDR, but the XE90 with it's FALD backlight is better with local dimming.

I'm looking forward to next year when prices are decent. Hopefully there is more competition in LCDs compared to this year.

Its basically OLED or Sony LCD right now at the mid-upper end of the market.

Spent all weekend reading the XE93 thread which has won me over. Reserved it today with Avensys who had 1 left at £1699 bargain methinks.
    Off to that thread now!
