Yes it was great to see them get it. Really happy for big Sam - he deserves it.

Just think where they might have been if they had not lost 7 in a row a few months back - CL perhaps?

    Good luck next year.

Dropped silly points recently aswell, Champions League is too early for us anyway. Walk before we run and all that :smashin:

Thanks anyway and good luck to whatever team you follow.

well done, pretty good going for perennial pre-season relegation candidates. the next step of course is to get past round 1 and get in some prize money so you can strengthen the squad.

Got to pay off our debts first :(

Im sure there will be new faces, but i would rather we stayed established in the prem than chase the dream like Leads did.

Oh and btw the pundits didn't tip us for relegation this season for the very first time
2 seasons in a row with a top 8 finish, Little Bolton 1 of the top 10 teams in England for 2 seasons running (im in dream land)

Sorry i know most of you are probably :boring: by now :smashin:

I will never sleep watching Bolton while you have J.J. in your team. Genius and pleasure to watch.

As a follower of continental football more than the EPL, I know about JJ way back when he played for E.Frankfurt (watching his tricks on Sat1 every week), then at PSG.

He's worth the entrance money himself.

 you haven't seen him of late then, the tricks have stopped (no doubt on orders from above). He did a couple of tricks a couple of matches back and was immediatly subbed.
When he played with dyorkeff a coupe of seasons back THAT was a pleasure to watch, they just gelled so good together and ran rings round people.

Maybe in the later stages, thank god English clubs can't play each other First round.

Imagine that trying to get into Europe since 1874 and we draw an English club :(

Well done Bolton... they won nothing andcameclose to winning... nothing and they have been awarded a european place for their 'hard work'!!

No offense mate but it is an annoying time of the season for me. Watching teams scramble about for european places that the dont deserve!

If you win a domestic trophy or if you are a finalist or a league runner up (2nd)... or for the Liverpool fans... win the previous seasons UEFA cup or CL... then you deserve a european place!

    EUROPEAN FOOTBALL: Meaning= Joke.

I agree totally but i won't begrudge our fans any glory at all. Champions league like you say should be for winners only but now they include league runners up etc.

Liverpool wouldn't have qualified for this seasons CL if you had your way.

It's all about MONEY now like it or not :(

Yip thats it- its all about the money and not about the sport.

Regarding Liverpool, thats why I cannot support them in europe (other than them being an english club of course ;) ) because they are there under default... they won nothing and achieved nothing to get there :thumbsdow

My team Bristol City, just missed out on the play offs by 1 point. Shame really as we are a first division club in all but status. However, it is a transitional period and lets see what next season brings.

We can only dream of european footy :)

Yep. Bolton have moved on in leaps and bounds since we beat you in the 1985 Freight Rover Trophy final at Wembley. Credit to them too. I can recall watching you guys at your old ground with the super market on the corner.

If only we could find the right unit at City. Right Chairman, right manager etc at the right time.

    Pete.

well done Bolton. I support Hearts (in Jockland) and have had some unreal Euro trips. Recommend going to see your team if you can.
I went to Madrid / Majorca/ Bayern/ Belguim. All totally excellent **** ups and great laughs. For teams ike Hearts (and I guess Bolton) you know you wont win the thing, so you make the most of it and enjoy it for what it is
thats the difference supporting teams like us. the pressure is off, and you go not expecting to win so make the most of it.
Madrid was amazing - these nightclubs - these women
    CONGRATS. and ENJOY

What does Div 1 in all but status mean anyway?

Well - set up, stadium, crowds etc. A bigger club than your Brightons, Crewes and so on.

Are you a gas-head then sickboy??

    :hiya:

Stadium - Get's worse with each year

Crowds - Our Stadium could accomadate your fans

Set up - I'll give you that with the academy

Crowds need to follow their team where ever they go. I remeber when man city were playing in Div 2 with crowds of 30,000. This means the fans turn up to see their team play, not just the opposition.

Crowds make you a big club, nothing else. Wigan are in the prem by virtue of a chairman with big pockets (+ Roberts & Ellington   ). If they didn't have his money they wouldn't be there.

"The Gate" is nothing but a venue and nothing interesting is playing their at the moment.

Yes I'm a gashead, yes I hate city (being better than us) and I need to be able to have internet access at work

Never to discuss The Blue & Whites vs The Reds.

I beleive you used to speak of a Bristol United to wind up the young man down the road. ;)

Good luck to Bolton Anyway. Have to put in a good show to match the efforts of this years English Teams.
