Evening Everyone,

I need some advice here. I want to obtain the soon-to-be-released "The Godfather Trilogy Collection" on DVD. However, I am beginning to read rumours that the R2 edition will be identical to the R1 version, AND be upto £20 cheaper in price?!!!!

Can anyone help me on this, as I don't want to spend more than is necessary, especially if the two sets are to be IDENTICAL (and I do stress that word!)?!

At the moment, I have pre-ordered and paid for the R1 edition, but if the above rumours are true, then should I get the R2 version instead?!

    A slightly bewildered,

    Pooch

Well, I obviously don't know where you've ordered The Godfather Trilogy from, though I know Movietyme have it for £59.99. Play247( ) have the R2 version listed at £45.99.

    Confucious,

I have pre-ordered the set from www.dc-dvd.net who are my normal R1 supplier. (It is costing me £70!) I know that's a lot of money, but they are a superb site and company, and always look after me well, hence I don't mind paying more than Play or Movietyme, for example.

The problem I have, is whether or not to get the R1 or R2 sets, providing they are IDENTICAL in every way, and that nothing is being dropped from the R2 edition to make it cheaper for people to buy. (Which is what I am suspecting, at the moment! I also think that the R2 edition will use some kind of cheapo cardboard case, whereas the R1 will probably use Amaray cases, with an external cardboard case to house all 5 discs.)

I hope that makes things a little clearer to everyone. Essentially, I am asking two questions:

    1) Are both the R1 and R2 editions IDENTICAL in every way, shape and form? If not, what are the differences?

    2) If the sets are identical, should I simply go for the cheapest regional set, or stick to an R1 set?

If both the sets are identical, except for price, then I would like to get the cheaper edition, but the sets must be absolutely identical! I don't want the same kind of problem I had with the "Toy Story - 3 DVD" set. (The R2 edition was cheaper, but had far less extras than the R1 edition, hence I bought the R1 edition!)

    Still slightly bewildered,

    Pooch
