    Sorry about that.....

As you can imagine I'm not having a good time with my Sky +...

    Basically it crashes......fairly regular....

when it's at it's worst it's three times a night...

I'm on my fourth box and am losing my patience.

What can be done or has anyone else had this many problems with theirs ???

Here's a bit more info on the issue (to save time) :-

It happens when i'm coming in and out of a pre-recorded program and playing another, the indicator that spins round on the screen keeps going and then it doesn't respond.

Sometimes it happens with live pause but not often...

I have the RF extension upstairs...so not sure if that has an affect.

Sky have tried updating software this time assuring me it will not happen again...but alas it did.

The lasy sky engineer completely recabled the box for me, put a new LNB on aswell.....

    HELPPPPPPPPPPPP !!!!!!!!!

    thanks

    Bob

After 4 boxes & new cables/LNB I think you can be fairly confident there's a problem elsewhere (provided that the boxes were all new :D ). Which box is it? Pace? Amstrad?

I'd be looking at the mains supply.... could well be a loose wire in the socket on the wall.

Do you use a mains surge protector/supressor? if not then try using one.

Apologies for late responses people, my spam blocker hasbeen blocking emails from this site.....

    interesting comments....

Apparently they were all new boxes AMSTRAD

What makes you think it has anything to do with power ???

And why use a surge protector....could it be getting spikes ???

    Any mroe help greatly appreciated.

As I said 90% of the time when it happens, it's when I come out of a pre-recorded program and go back into it for example.

    thanks

    Bob
