Glossy or matte screen in a family room?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to OLED, so please excuse my ignorance.

My choice of new set is flipping between a Sony AJ80 with matte screen and Panasonic JZ1000 with glossy screen.

It will be located in a family room, with unshielded windows by day and some mood lighting by night.

Its my understanding the matte screen will significantly reduce reflections at the cost of a lesser image. Unfortunately I can't find a showroom with my real world viewing conditions to make a comparison.

Naturally I want the best image possible but not one plagued with reflections. So my questions to those that locate their screen as I will, and not in a blacked out cinema room, are

• how bad are reflections likely to be with a glossy screen?
• how long is a piece of string (joke)?
• which should I buy for that location?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Lucky60 asked the question 2 years ago. Suppose they got the answer eventually! They can get a new TV now 😁
