I don't know if I should let this out of the bag  or if you already know. But Gladiator on superbit has been discontinued  . So anyone know were I can buy a pallet full :smashin: . Does anyone know why, and do you think it will go like 007 with Sam Neil?.

Gladiator Superbit has been out of print for quite some time. If I knew where to get it I would have already bought a copy instead of purchasing the two-disc region 2 version. I don't fancy your chances in finding a copy that easily.

This is just speculation but I imagine they didn't sell very well because the two-disc region 2 version had DTS, that is why they were discontinued if you ask me.

ive got the Jap R2 Superbit. Im sure there are still some floating about in some Tokyo shops. Most people dont know the benefits of Superbit over standard. They just see the extra cost with no extras, so they usually dont buy them. Which means they just sit there in all the shops.

That's because unless you have a VERY high end video setup, superbit doesn't offer anything that 99% of people will see. Gladiator Superbit, for example, was never worth buying, because as someone else has said, the R1 and R2 standard editions are better value for money (the picture is no different imho).

I like buying Superbit titles but they should release Superbit Deluxe DVDs as well. I hardly ever watch extras but I do like to have them all the same. I wish they would release Superbit titles with full Bit rate DTS as standard not the usual half Bit rate.

I've got the superbit Gladiator. Region 2 with both DTS + DD 5.1. Though if someone wants to pay £50 for it they can have it. :)

Even thought the superbit omits the DTS 6.1 soundtrack, its 5.1 mix i
has reports of being better 'in the real world' more natural and less artificial apparently. Still think the 2 disc R2 collecto's edition is excellent though.. the extra's are worth having with this sort of movie IMO
