Gladiator missing colour

    Just got Gadiator R2, colour seems almost non existant all the way through, have to turn it right up to gat anything. All my other DVD's are fine - anyone know of this before or is it possible to get a "BAD DISK"

    Hi Steve <br />The colour is subdued for the most part. For a moment when I first saw it I thought the Germanic battle scene was in black and white (well black and grey actually) but when they light the fire pit for the archers the colour is incerdibly vivid, even more so because of the gloom. I believe Ridley Scott got the ideas for the darker colours from a victorian painting of gladiators. I think they were trying to make sure it looked quite different from the old 'technicolour' sword and sandal movies. But there is plenty of colour so perhaps you do have a problem.<br />Richard
