Ask your bank. It's perfectly safe. I'd rather trust that than trust paypal anyway.

Only thing I would add is not to give them any more personal info - DOB that sort of thing. If you do then they would be able to use the bank account details to get other credit in your name. Otherwise its pretty safe.

Agreed. As long as you're reasonably sensible about it and only give out the Account and Sort numbers along with your name you can't really go wrong. Plus the buyer has to leave their desk to pay the money in at a branch (often) so must be prepared to go to some effort to get the item - it's a nice tactile experience for everyone. :)

I'd use internet banking personally. No need to even leave your seat !

If you give them your Name, Account Number and Sort Code, they can't take anything from your account with these details, just put things in.

I have a separate bank account for Ebaying and stuff like that, and i never keep more than about £10 in it at any time. I don't mind giving details of this out to buyers, and have never had any problems so far....................
