Ghosting 42wp36p->RD-XS24

First post as I am n need of help.
I have a 42WP36P Plasma and a RD-XS24 DVD-HDD recorder, when i record anything from sky to the HDD I get the offset scrolling ghosting. It is a ghost of the displayed programme.
I have the Sky Digi(not + or HD) Connected to the TV and recorder via Scart and the recorder to TV via component leads. The TV has no HDMI slots as it is pre HD
