Thanks for that

The single and co op points are obviously the easiest to get, but stuff like 10,000 kills in multiplayer seem damn high. Thats a lot of online play. and 4 kills in 4 seconds or less:eek: i dont think I'll be making that one in a hurry.

I am quite an avid gamer, but there is always people better than ourselves.

tris

you will find people will cheat to get that one ;)

get 5 friends into a server and all stand in a line and shooooooot

And what about this one:

Committed (Multiplayer)

However good the game is, don't know if I fancy going for this one

and I've no chance at these:

World Champion (Multiplayer)
Climb to the top of the universal leaderboard

Solo champion (Multiplayer)
Climb to the top of the solo leaderboard

Team champion (Multiplayer)
Climb to the top of the team leaderboard

and this one will take forever...

Master of Ceremonies

Wonder how they work these things out

i like this type of achievement list. At least it will be a challenge to get these achievements. FIFA was an easy 1000 points, and i heard you can get 1000 points in fight night in a few hours(boring!!!)

I like challenging achievements too, but I like to at least be in with a chance of getting them all... the 1000 games one would take a long time but at least I know if I put the effort in I can get it. Unlike those "top of the leaderboard" ones that will be impossible for 99.9% of us no matter how much effort we put in...

I feel the same, I like games to have lots of acheivements of a varity of difficulty levels with the hardest ones requireing, practice and skill. games like fifa's or kongs acheivements are very poor. Good very difficult acheivements IMO are :
1) completeing COD2 on veteren
2) all platinums on PGR3
3) all easter eggs or all hard levels under par on marble blast.
4) completeing gun on insane
(I only have 1 of those so far btw)

But silly acheivements are
1) get to number 1 in the world (there are all ready score boards to show if you acheive this and its open to far to few people. Having multiple get to number 1 in the world acheivements in 1 game is even worse.
2) any acheivement that not only requires perfect skill but also perfect luck. Complete a level in under 5 seconds on zuma. As far as I know no one in the world has it.

... i cant do cone challenges, any advice?

Thats EXACTLY my issuewith the game, and PGR2 aswell.

The cone challenges are far too hard compared to other events on the same difficulty. Its easy to get playinum on hte speed challenge, but impossible for cones.

I think PDZ has a very good set of achievements, been steadily obtaining them over theh past few weeks. Its good that you need 100, then 1000 then 10,000. keeps you playing.

I think the GRAW list is ok, but as people rightly say, some of them are impossible.

i saw a video on youtube that shows someone doing a zuma level very quickly and getting an achievment, ill try to find it. EDIT:found it

also #1 in the world on GRAW only gets you something like 40 points:rolleyes: while 4 kills in 4 seconds is about 15-20

Thanks, obviously I was wrong about no one having it. Still requires perfect luck with the combination of balls at the start. It's actually very easy to get by the looks of it if you are lucky enough to have the right combination of balls.

I hate some of the achievements listed here. They're asking you to be the best solo and team player IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.

This is nothing short of foolishness. Achievements should be well-weighted to encourage reply value, not preposterously difficult.

One game that I think has got achievements completely right is "Condemned: Criminal Origins". The way the achievements were designed actively encouraged replay value - for example, playing through 1 level with just melee weapons gets you the bronze melee award. 3 levels? Silver. Every level? Gold. If you're thorough enough to get every piece of evidence? Chief Investigator's Award...and so on and so forth. You're faced with a choice at the very end of the game - each choice you have results in a different achievement being unlocked.

Condemned also has leaderboards, so if you want to see how good you are in comparison to anyone else, then you can check...you just don't get any gamerpoints to do it. That's the way it should be. Achievements should be attainable to everyone who picks up a game, provided they devote a sensible amount of time to playing. COD2 is another good example. Play through once, and get a lot of achievements. Play through again on veteran, and get the rest.

Playing online should be about having fun...it shouldn't be made into an endless chore as you try to clock up enough stats to haul yourself to the top of the leaderboard.

The achievements listed above don't make me want to play GR:AW constantly online - they actually make me want to throw the bloody thing in the bin due to how shameless the developers are. "Stay on our game at the expense of all others in the vain hope you get these last few achievements", seems to be the attitude. On that score, at least, Ubisoft can **** right off.

seems the points don't add up to 1000 either. Do you think PGR, Condemed, GRAW's points not adding up to 1000 are so they can have acheivements for new content they add by download or simply can they not add up?

I've wondered about this, too...in Condemned's case it's a real shame, because the existing ones add up to 970! Surely another 30 wouldn't have been too hard to find??

So you're not too keen on them then... :rotfl:

Joking aside, I completely agree with you - I love the new achievements system. Never before have I felt more compelled to complete a game (or even replay it) than I do now. I want to be able to get all the achievements in a game, but knowing there are some I will never be able to get is a huge turn-off for me... there's something just so annoying about not having a full set... :(

i have to say some of the achievements are ludicrous. You also get the same amount of points for completing a certain mission on normal as you do on hard!

You're right - 25 points for each.. it would have been far better to give say 5 points for normal and 45 points for hard... that sort of extra commitment and skill deserves a bigger reward :nono:

Exactly! Great minds think alike, and all that

I feel that I really got my money's worth with Condemned, because I played it right through twice, and took my time on both occasions.

No matter how good GR:AW is (and I'm sure it will be very good indeed) I'll always be irritated that I can't get all the achievements in it.

ye i know what you mean, because i am curently frustrated at call of duty 2! i have completed the whole game on veteran, apart from the third part of the D-Day mission, whiuch to me seems impossible!! hill 400 was a strole in the park compared to it!!

Why is everyone soo bothered about the points system? Does having 100000 points more than the person next to you make you any better a gamer? someone may work a 60 hour week and only manage to play a few hours a week does that make him any less skilled in gaming than a student with 4 hours of lectures a week and gaming every hour available imo NO. Yes the achievements are a nice little touch to the games with i guess certain bragging rights attatched but all in all don't you just play for the fun of it?

Im not getting at students in any way shape or form just the easiest example to use :)

The point we're making, though, is that the person who works a 60 hour week can be as skilled as the student who plays games all the time - but many of the current achievements (and thus, the way in which one's gaming skills can be verified) are attainable only by people who play 24/7, affording the casual gamer less opportunity to show their prowess. I have no doubt I can go on to be pretty competent at GR:AW, but the best in the world? Be reasonable, eh?

What pisses me off most of all is that it's (as I've said before) a transparent attempt to keep people playing one game longer than any other, particularly online. Vote with your feet - don't bother even trying to go for these kinds of ridiculous achievements, and any time you get asked for feedback, I suggest you go for "stop including stupidly hard achievements, you sad bastards".

But hey, that's just my $0.02.
