I have been wading my way through the series over the last few days. There are some outstandingly brilliant episodes, and some filler episodes that don't really go anywhere or add anything to the series.

Visually it is a treat, really good mix of CGI and regular animation.

I would recommend anyone into anime to give it a look!

    Just to clarify something here:
The name of the series is "Standalone Complex" for a reason: There are Standalone episodes and Complex episodes which do follow a "larger" scenario. Thus it's more than normal to have these "filler" episodes, which are very good in my opinion, and not just the kind of fillers you get in some series, where NOTHING happens. And yes, this series is great. I highly recommend skipping the US dubbing and viewing it only in JP language.
