I have a 2nd TV which is a basic Bush 20inch CRT, the problem is i threw out the old crappy remote long ago when I thought I would never use the TV again but now ive decided to set it up to play my PS2. The problem is there is no way on the set to set it to AV-1 and without a remote I cant get it to find the PS2 connected via composite. Is there any way I can get it to auto detect my PS2 like it used to auto detect my Sky box that was plugged into AV-1? I have a DVD recorder that I thought I could plug in, and then plug in the PS2 into the DVD recorder but I dont know if that would work.. any ideas?

Auto-detecting a piece of equipment is only done via the scart socket...so if you connect your PS2 via composite on the DVDR and connect the DVDR via a fully wired scart lead the TV should auto-detect the DVDR when it is switched on and if the input on the DVDR is set to the PS2 connection.
