Getting Gamestation Deposit back-no receipt

hello all

when i preordered my 360s and picked it up i preordered the kinect and put a deposit down for it. now before i went on holiday (3 weeks ago) i called gamestation saying i have lost my preorder paper and receipt and didnt want my kinect. they said without the papers i couldnt get my money back or put the deposit on my gamestation gift card or even use it towards the purchase of the kinect.

they said i have 28 days to get my money back on the deposit. and the kinect is already out so its been over a week lost and i still cant find my receipt.

is that right i cant get my money back or atleast credit? or are they BS'ing me

my brother in law up until a couple of months back used to be a gs manager, i'll message him and see what he has to say, will let you know what he says.

he says that the should of taken your details when they took the deposit from you and they can easily retreive your details from that, sounds like there being difficult to him, he suggests going back telling them youve spoken to head office and they recommended you go back explaining that your details were recorded at the time of the deposit.

If you paid by card then maybe you could show them a statement?

Anyway they must take some details from you, how would they know pre order details etc..
