I've looked all over these forums and I can't seem to find a definite answer. I know the Viera will not play anything at 720p, but will it play at 1080i?

If I have a hd-dvd at 1080i am I likely to see a difference on the Viera to that of a normal dvd?

    Thanks for any help. :)

When I first read the posts here I got the impression that the Viera couldn't display 720p or 1080i but on reading subsequent posts I think that it can downscale 1080i signals, I'm not entirely 100% on that. It does seem that the Viera can't do anything with 720p though.

If 1080i signals do work would you see a difference from normal interlaced or progressive PAL signals? I wouldn't know, sorry, I've not been much help.
