Getting a clear 4K picture on Samsung UE43TU7100 from MacBook Air M1

Hi all,
Hoping someone has cracked this already? I've just moved from using a horrible 32" 1080p Samsung 'hotel' tv as my main monitor at my stand up desk to a Samsung UE43TU7100 4K tv thinking that this would give me sharp text and make things easier on the eyes (as well as giving me a bigger tv for films etc).

Text I think is a bit better but there's oddities in a number of places.

IN various places it looks a bit Windows 3.1 with dots and speckles being colours for instance in the menu bar at the top of the screen or in the red, orange and Green dots in the top left of each window.

I'm using a usb c 'hub' to hdmi to the tv with probably a reasonably basic HDMI cable.

I've also tried a USB C to HDMI lead direct with the same results.

The Mac is reporting
SAMSUNG:

Resolution: 3840x2160 (2160p/4K UHD 1 - Ultra High Definition)

UI Looks like: 3840 x 2160 @ 30.00Hz

When I scroll there's a lot of blurring too, (I assume due to 30Hz).

Samsung support said there's nothing wrong with the tv and speak to Apple

Apple support said nothing wrong with the laptop try different cables.

I'm assuming there's some settings I can adjust and perhaps some tips and tricks as to how to get the best picture from the laptop to the display (or perhaps this model isn't the answer?!)

Only just bought it from ao.com so if it's not right then happy to return it as it's definitely not easy on the eyes at the moment.

Thanks in advance and virtual beers for anyone who helps me crack it :)

Couple of pics attached to show what I mean

Thanks
Noel
