Well, I'll start by saying that I'm not a Stallone fan! I only really bought this film 'cos it had got some pretty good reviews, & it was cheap!!
I watched the movie last night, & I have to say that it was really pretty good. Without a doubt the best thing Stallone's done since Rocky 1. Slightly more to his acting, than his usual 2D performances. Although, I couldn't help being reminded of the Stallone character in 'Ants' from time to time.
Thought the direction of the film very good too. Very slick, moved at about the right pace, & not the usual slushy crap that studios are building in for the 'popcorn' audiences in the US.
Ah well, that's my opinion of the film anyway. :p

Yep, agree that he did a pretty good job in Copland. Good movie anyhow ...

So I should get "Get Carter" (2000) then?

How about "Shaft" (2000, the movie)? Anyone seen it / is it good?

I absoultly love the original GET CARTER and so am most dubious about the new version. Is it a complete line for line remake ? or is it a completly different film but with the same idea ? If it is just a remake then there is no way I will bother.

SHAFT 2000 is not that bad a film. It has quite a good pacing about it, and its a role that SAMUEL JACKSON was born to play but it does not hold it to repeat viewings

Duncan, can you imagine Stallone playing a 'Michael Caine' part? [IMG] The mind boggles [IMG] No, it's a re-make but re-located to Chicago (I think). Same idea; Hoodlum's brother's been topped by local gangster. Hoodlum comes home to find out 'whodunnit'. Well worth a watch IMHO.
