'Explosive' thrown at Gerry Adams' house

"An explosive device has been thrown at former Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams' house in west Belfast, the party has said.

In a statement the party added activist Bobby Storey's house was also attacked."

"Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly said "these were reprehensible and cowardly attacks"
    .

"Grandchildren were in the driveway of Adams' home minutes before the attack," he added."

Nobody wants to see a return to violence on the streets but I’m sure those throwing the explosive devices were freedom fighters fighting for their rights. Wonder if they phoned ahead like decent terrorists?

(Entirely cynical post before anyone thinks I have any sympathy at all for either side, which I don’t)

What are the reasons behind this recent upsurge in violence as in who or what is driving it ?

If it’s yet another thread turning into a Labour/Conservative argument (yawn), let’s not forget that your party is only in power because they bought the support of the other terrorist group in Ireland ;)

    This gets better.

'Have the guts to meet me' - Gerry Adams

Mr Adams asked those responsible to have the "gumption and guts" to meet him and explain their actions.

The comments on his twitter feed is hilarious right now.

Power sharing needs to restart as quickly as possible, but it won't as the Tories frankly only seem to be bothered about Northern Ireland when it comes to brexit and keeping the DUP happy.

I guess Sir John Major might have been right about the risks of doing a deal with the DUP. It suits them to keep power sharing stalled and only builds up anger and resentment that those who want a return to violence can exploit.

The aim was a political one.

I chuckled when I read this. As someone who is generally opposed to violence the irony of an IRA man complaining that someone threw a bomb at him is delicious. Adams is utter vermin, as is his best pal - Jeremy Corbyn.

I've also got no time for the IRA, but I guess buying support from the other bunch of Terrorists to retain Government power doesn't count as a problem for you?

You guessed wrong. The DUP are a deplorable bunch of bronze age thugs. Nobody should go anywhere near them.

I take a hard line stance on violence. Once you cross that line there's no going back, no forgiveness. Ever.

Ok, I just wondered why you brought Jeremy Corbyn into a thread about Gerry Adams and not mention that our Conservative Government is only still in power because they paid the DUP to agree with them.

Because the first rule of Power sharing with the DUP fight club is that you don't talk about the paramilitary wing it founded.

The second rule of Power sharing with the DUP fight club is that you don't talk about the paramilitary wing it founded.

The third rule of Power sharing with the DUP fight club is JEREMY CORBYN !

Labour had no problem with the DUP before.

Gordon Brown tried to broker DUP deal after 2010 hung parliament | Metro News

The DUP have ruled out any future deal with Corbyn due to his IRA links.

    All whataboutery isn't it?
