I see news (or rumours) floating around that the Germans are halting HD DVD production and moving over to t'other side. I'm still hoping that their impressive-looking T2 is going to be released - does anyone have any info on this?

Nice one! And doesn't that packaging look grand...

(Let's hope they don't "Pull a Warner Bros" and suddenly change their minds before March, eh! Although with all the work that's gone into this, it HAS to be released, right?)

Kinowelt is releasing the new Terminator HD-DVD and they are still commited to the format.

Today not only Constantine has announced they are backing Blu-Ray exclusively but also Highlight is now Blu-Ray exclusive as the 2nd distributor to do so.

The Nice thing is Iron Man which is coming this year is being released by Paramount in the US but in Germany by Concorde/Highlight so there will be a blu-ray if Paramount does not go back to neutrality this year

Good stuff. This is one of the (many) reasons why my EP35 is still sitting under the telly.

Does anyone know if this is a new transfer? The US BD isn't brilliant, and while the UK HD version is better, it's still not exactly demo quality.

It should be a complete new transfer of T2 along with DTS-HD MA 7.1 surround sound.

    Interaktive Features:

Picture in Picture (Storyboard und Drehbuch laufen parallel zum Film)
    Persönliche Bookmarks und Fotogalerien
    Quiz Mode
    Spy Mode
    Inside T2 Mode
Integrierte Online-Funktionalität mit Zugriff auf mehr Features
    Making ofs
    2 Audiokommentare
    Deleted Scenes
    ausführliche Hindergrundinfos
    Trailer
    Hidden Features

Although this is announced for HD-DVD only Kinowelt also supports Blu-Ray and this may well end up on that format as well.

Phew! I was literally hours away from ordering the existing vanilla HD DVD version of this movie, when I read this thread!

    Can't wait!

Since when??? Is this for real? TConstantine's distribution catalogue have various (so-called) B** **y exclusives that would have otherwise planned to come outif that were the case.

    Impressive looking!

This looks like it has the makings of a benchmark disc in terms of interactive / HDi features. If the AV quality is up to the standard of the extras, then this could be the ultimate hi-def disc to date.

It automatically has Transformers beaten, as T2 is a quality movie.

Does the Blu Ray version have all of these interactive features working? Or is it even being released on Blu Ray?

I know it's not out until March, but was wondering where I would be able to actually get this HD DVD because I've never bought any German discs before. I guess if it's popular enough the usual places will stock it. :)

:D Maybe, but the french HD-DVD I linked to on the bottom of the previous page is the theatrical and Directors cut, although unfortunately the Theatrical cut has 'burnt on' french subtitles.. the Directors cut is however very good IMO. TBH I didn't notice any difference between the directors cut and the theatrical DVD and/or VHS releases of T2, despite watching them plenty of times in the past. :D There is certainly not a massive difference in cuts IMO Well apart from the great PQ and DTS-HD MA audio!!

I presume Movietyme etc will stock this one too, and it looks even better than the french release.. There's also Amazon.de I presume?? Hopefully we'll have plenty of links on here once it's out.

There is of course both a UK HD-DVD and a US BR release, although neither to the same standard as the French and German ones, AFAIK.

This is where I've pre-ordered my copy from, can't wait for it to arrive.

    http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/movie/hitlist

I don't know where you are from, but I'm in the UK and its 30 euros plus 6 euros shipping, i think some countries have tax reduced, but the for the UK it works out at £26.90 - not cheap i know but its a one of the most feature packed HD's, plus steelbook, so too me its great value.

I am tempted to wait for either my buddy to get it on his web-shop or wait and see how much Movietyme are going to charge for it

jaycee900, what are those guys like where you've pre-ordered from as I've never heard of them before

    Guys,

Here's another German seller, their price is 29,90 euros - put Terminator into the 'Produktsuche' box (can't work out their postage rate to UK though).

I've emailed them to ask - but has anyone used them before?

Is there confirmation that this is a new transfer of T2?

I have the UK disc, and would happily sell it and wait if the PQ is going to be improved?

This is my first order from them, but I've known a couple of people to have use them before and no problems so I'm having a go.
