General Lease/PCP/PCH Deals Thread

Hideous prices though (sign of the times).

Circa 10K over 2 years :eek::facepalm:

Makes the sub 6K paid from 5 years ago seem like 50 years ago.:rotfl:

Extended my current least for the max allowed (90 days).

110 days to find a decent deal on something.

Give myself 25/1 chance of it happening.

One lease goes back next week.

I'm getting a 12 year old mint Corsa 1.4i for free from my gran who's stopped driving.

My Tiguan did 5700 miles December to December, with 10k miles paid for.

Second car even less... So Corsa can do the school and nursery runs. Sad sign of the times, but £300 a month potentially, to sit on the drive? Nah.

Has anyone enquired with their Insurance company about the contracted PCP mileage they’ve signed up to and how that has been affected by the pandemic?

An example I got my car on 07/08/20 and have done less than 1500 miles so projecting to 4000/annum yet I’ve signed up for 14000 miles/annum.

I don’t expect BMW Financial Services to change the PCP, but I’ll benefit due to the increased GFV when I change it in a couple of years, so was wondering what Aviva would say?

They'll gladly update and adjust your policy and premium, but will likely enact a charge for admin that negates it.

I'll be calling VW about our PCH and reducing monthly payments for sure, given the mileage change. As you suggest though, not sure PCP is quite as flexible.

Hopefully you'll recoup on guaranteed future value etc, but having seen my FILs Jaguar F Pace trade in value after 2 years, I wouldn't hope for anything but the contractual minimum - depreciation is eye watering at the moment.

I asked Aviva with our Plus policy and it was very small almost not worthwhile difference. We have a 3rd car lease coming much sooner than our 2nd pcp is due to go back (too good a deal on EV via Sal sacrifice), so enquired about laying it up to save insurance & £40 pm road tax, but that was painful also as Aviva wouldn’t do it and only a few specialists would quote. Think we’ll VT the pcp as the GFV is much higher than current real world prices so no other way to get out of it 12 months early. Prices really are all over the shot with C19 but also the ICE to EV uncertainty, not sure I’ll ever buy ever again, pcp maybe, but my preferred route now is lease as known costs.. Problem is everything changes all the time making it impossible to plan over 3-4 years..

GFV will increase so you will reap the rewards for your next purchase, which is the X5M Comp isn’t it 😉

Finally sorted my first lease - put an order in this week for a Skoda Kodiaq Sportline on a 3 +36, it was in stock, so i thought 4 weeks, sort out the paper work and all that...arrives in May! 😱 Sweet Mary Jesus...

Turns out all the in stock cars had gone. In my nativity, I never knew it would be months to wait! Apparently it was all the extras i added on. 😎

Probably a blessing not arriving till May as it’s not like you’ll be raking the miles up this winter :D

I gave up after 6 months waiting for an Octavia VRs 245 factory order.

I am contemplating changing my Troc. I am only 18 months into my 43 month PCP but fancy a change back to an Octavia. I was pleasantly surprised to find out my car valuation is near enough the same as I owe VW in this short space of time. I think its because I have done a lot less mileage than my contract due to hubby now working from home. Still in 2 minds what to do. The dealership are calling me on Saturday and I will see what they offer. Will have to be around 42 month again though.

I broke even on my M140i PCP after 20 months, no such luck with the current car so waiting till end of year to VT.

Is it better to specify a lower mileage to keep the monthly payments down? Then pay the excess mileage if you go over? I always wonder this as if you over estimate the mileage, especially in the current climate you will be paying more than you should per month.

All depends on the excess mileage charge and how much they charge extra for increased miles, it's up to you to do the maths.

Depends on the figures, sometimes is, sometimes isn't, but not sure there's a magic rule. I was torn between 12-15k, it worked out on mine if I did 1-2k more than 12k it was cheaper to go lower, but 15k would be pricier if I had gone lower. Luckily I'm way under now though... Mileage charge is often quoted without VAT even though it is charged with VAT, so ensure you take that into account if it's the case..

Another month of nothing happening in the leasing sector.

Deals are totally non existent. Especially on a 2 year basis. Occasionally there’s a flurry of activity over on PH but it’s usually peeps chatting about whether or not a Golf R costing 10K over 2 years is ok or absolute madness. :D

2 weeks into my 90 day extension now so 10 weeks left.

Looking around every other day now but nothing of note (some OK Elec deals appearing mind).

Was a good 6 years of leasing but those times are sadly gone. Hopefully the might return in years to come.

M135i and 128ti deals were good, I would of ordered one if I wasn't half way through my PCP.

I’m looking at a van lease currently..

I have my own van which is going to be needing clutch, timing belt and a few other things soon.... it’s currently worth what I paid for it just over a year ago..

I’m tempted to sell the van and switch to a lease that has a warranty etc.

mileage wise there is £5 a month difference between 10-15k and I think the excess mileage is 12p a mile.

Paying 30-50% more than a few years back is not my idea of good.

Granted those days are long gone but on principal, I ain't doing it.

My previous Golf R budget might just be able to cover a Dacia Duster now :rotfl::rotfl:

Just saw an okish BMW 330i deal on Select Car Leasing. My Audi A6 is up in June but wondering what to do....I've barely used my car in the last year and I don't actually think this year is going to be that different....

I‘m thinking more and more about hammering the mileage over the next year on a lot of weekend away UK trips. Might be a good idea to forgoe leasing for a year (maybe the deals will have left the gutter floor by then) and get something like an old 320d

agreed - I had a great 3 x 3 year leases on cars (golf gti/octavia vrs estate/merc c180), wife had 2 x 3 year leases. Can't fault it for those years - great cars, super cheap deals but literally nothing out there these days.

Are there any periods when it’s better for leasing? In particular vans.

I’m wondering whether to pull the trigger on a lease or wait and see if a better deal comes along
