I bought an Asus 7100 Geforce2 MX400 64Mb with tv out last week. No matter what I do, the tv out selection box stays greyed out and therefore no tv signal is being output.

The latest Asus or Nvidia drivers don't help either.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    What OS are you using?
Are you using the correct drivers and have you installed all the software for the card?

I know they seem silly questions, but you'd never know how many people think that something should work straight from the box. I've never used an Asus Gfx card, only ever had a Matrox with TV out and it took awhile to get up and running.

Have a look through the faq's on the Asus web site -
    http://www.asus.com.tw/inside/TechnicalReference.htm#vga

Isn't the easiest site to navigate, but you should be able to find an answer to your problem. Also, make sure you have the latest bios and drivers installed :)

Make sure that the TV is pluged into the video card and on before you turn on your computer. Some cards only detect the tv on bootup rather than when its already on.

Let me know how you get on

yep, the s-video lead needs to be plugged into both the VGA card and the amp/tv for the dialog box to become active.
