Mrs Taz has just come home with a Nintendo WaveBird wireless joypad...

all I can say is Its the best bit of kit we have bought in ages!

No wires, just like the 'normal' one but without the rumble but for the sake of no trailing wires I can do without the rumble.

Go get one ASAP, you wont regret it ;)

    9.9 /10 :D

What battery life like Taz I have been sitting on the GC Idea for ages, I want one but am having trouble priortising funds, no funds. If you have 4 how do they not get crossed, selectable frequency? or do they have set frequencies? if so you need a different frequency for each one so how do you tell? PS is it on UK shelves or is it an import?

Completely agree with you Taz - though some games really do need the Rumble Feature to uncover hidden objects etc. Eternal Darkness is one that comes to mind. The Wavebird is definately worth having though.

Horny, the Wavebird has a selectable RF frequency from a set range. You select a different frequency for each controller. It's not available in the UK yet but the US/Jap version should work on UK machines just fine.

Taz - not long until Mario Sunshine now ;).

Very good as it only uses power when a button etc is pressed, Mrs T left it on all night and no problem as nothing was being pressed.

Are they available to buy in regular shops yet? I quite fancy getting a couple.

Jeff, the Wavebird isn't scheduled for release in the UK until November 22nd :(. There is little point in waiting though as I would assume the US/JAP ones work just fine on PAL machines :).

It was announced a week or so after the WaveBird's launch that Thrustmaster or Blaze (one of the 3rd parties anyway) are offering the same kind of technology but with rumble support. It'll be interesting to see how much of a drain it would have on the batteries. I can live without rumble support on the WaveBird since it seems ideal with Super Monkey Ball, but some games do rely on this feature.

Either way I'm going to order a pair of these babys regardless. I just have to wait until I've paid off the next bill >_<
