Moved in on the 3rd of dec, i'm with British Gas for Lecci and Gas.
Now when i phoned up they estimated the prices and came up with
    • Gas - £43
    • Electric - £25
Now was wondering if doing online meter readings every 3rd of the month would help me get an more accurate price of how much i should be paying.
If anybody does online readings when do you do them ?

I don't do online but when my bill comes and it's estimated I phone through the correct reading, my bill is then adjusted and I get a new bill. This way my monthly debit is calculated on what I actually use and I do not end up in huge arrears or over payment because I have allowed estimated readings build up.

I do not understand why people think they are getting away with someting when they do not declare low estimated readings and end up paying less than what is actually owed. At some point, either when the meter-man does turn up or when they move house, they will be liable for the balance all at once!

Whenever I feel like it, or when my bill arrives and I think they're taking the mick.

With Scottish Power and update meter readings on Pay Day that way I dont forget to get them. My monthly payments are assesed every 3 months and have not had any shocks yet.

Reason was when we last moved we were with British Gas, who we had for both gas and electric and they had incorrectly guesstimated our bills for 12 months. So when we moved we had the meters read and low and behold a whooping final gas and electic bill.

I tried to provide my supplier with accurate readings, but they wouldn't accept them!

I asked why, only to be told, "You can only submit actual readings for 14 days after your bill has been sent. We will then re-calculate your bill, and send you a new one."

I couldn't be bothered to argue.
