Hi all

Just specced up the following for a gaming PC/media workhorse for my son and wife.
Main usage will be

1) Gaming - Fornight on high or epic
2) Pinnacle Video Studio
3) Adobe Photoshop

Would be great to get some input from the pros. I just want to opimise so its value for money. As we all know, you can keep throwing money on the next higher specced component....never ending really.

RYZEN 5 2600 X
AMD RX 570 4gb
Samsung 860 EVO 250gb
Any 1tb SATA HDD
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 (2 x 8Gb)
MSI B450 Tomahawk Mobo
500 W PSU for around £50-60
Midi Tower case for around £30-50

If gaming at 1080P pay slightly more for a RX580 8Gb to max out the settings in games.

Seems alright other than that. Ryzen CPU’s love fast RAM, maybe see if there’s a 3200Mhz kit for similar money.

Thanks buddy.....bought all the parts in the end and will hopefully build tonight with my son. I think i did well for £650

Bought the 8gb RX 580 and went for 1x16gb 3000mhz ram. Will probably add another DDR4 later.

Drop the 2600x and just get the 2600. Buy 2x8GB or 2x16GB, dual channel will make a difference in performance, especially in poorly optimized games

Yeah, what ^ said.

Get another stick and pair them up.

thanks all. Built the rig in the end. I used the Samsung EVO 970 Nvme drive.....WOW!!!! loads up super fast
