    Hey,

Trying to put some finishing touches to my cinema room and getting some movie and gaming posers to be framed. Any pointers on where to pickup video gaming posters ?

    Hi mate,

I have a few game posters knocking about. Off the top of my head, POTC, Superman Returns, Rainbow 6 amongst others.

I will check when I get into work tomorrow and send you over a list if you like.

You could always get a high quality image off the net and go down to a local printers. They'll do it to any size you want and you can have a much wider range. You could also get it done on canvas which imo, always looks far better...

I have a GOW display box if you want it.

As well as the posters listed earlier I also have Cars, Rumble Roses, Commando Strike Force and Dragon Booster.

I do have a lifesize GOW standee but that is going on ebay soon....

Unless someone wants to make me an offer of course ;)

Here's a few high quality images you could get printed off if your struggling to get hold of any:

My friend done the same with some movie images that he wanted from Schindlers List and it worked really well. Just seen Play do some movie film canvasses for £60 which is far more than what my friend paid...

Don't know exactly, your best is talking to your local printer but I imagine you can get it to a decent size [judging by what my friend had for Schindlers List].

Might seem daft but I was just looking in my dad's Fuji Finepix A700 manual & that top GoW picture is @ 1600 x 1200 which according to the manual is the equivelent of a 2 megapixel picture & that is good for A6 (or 6 x 4) sized prints.

Probably has no bearing on anything but it might mean you cant get a very good print the bigger you get.

[spoiler (as in 'I'm spoiling the fun') alert]

At the risk of sounding like an old fart (oh, that's right, I am!) you may find yourself being turned away if you downloaded copyrighted images off t'interweb (i.e. you don't 'own' the reproduction rights), as printers "should" check copyright on images they're asked to print/copy/reproduce...:nono:

If it's not copyrighted, then you're fine. I'm not sure how you'd prove this though, but you could argue that as it's on-line it's in the public domain... hmmm.

Back on subject - I've got a spare Nintendo Magazine 'Red Steel' poster for anyone who'll pay the P&P. As for printing images, the printer will give you all the advice you need, or check out their web sites as they often have graphics guidelines which will tell you all you need to know. Cost and quality are fundamentally linked, add size to the mix and you'll need to understand that the old adage is still true - rubbish in, rubbish out, so get the highest image quality you can and find a printer who'll do the job, then a framer who'll not charge an arm and a couple of additional limbs for framing and you're done BTW I think you'll find the framing the most expensive bit, unless you trot off to IKEA and get some of their frames.

Befriend a Computer game shop employee  as they will have access to all the promo materials you want...
