If you enjoy playing the game, it doesn't mean anything really! It just seems to be a way for people who play a crazy amount of games to show off the fact they don't have a girlfriend. ;)

Creating a Gamertag will be very obvious when you come to do it, as for the 5 little pictures - they are the last 5 games you've played which are updated automatically.

The gamerpoints are an indication of how much time you spend playing games to be honest.

Dont base your opinion on how good a gamer someone is on their gamerscore though, there was a guy earlier with 5 gamerpoints who was ripping it up on rb6 earlier.

go to your 'my settings' and 'edit profile' then just enter your gamertag on the bottom and it will display your gamertag and games etc on the forum for everyone here to see!

What i have noticed is that the people who view the gamerscores as pointless or whatever tend to be those who have a low gamerscore

Not really, you could play only one or 2 games to death and only have a score of 2000, but you cold play lot of game but only briefly and have a much higher score

Well, obviously. If you find something pointless, you won't go out your way to do it. It doesn't mean they're not capable of doing mundane tasks thay anyone could do in order to gain ten pretty useless gamerpoints...

I think the gamer score is a good idea as it can make you play a game that bit longer and try and see or do more than maybe you would if there was no incentive. Sometimes it can indicate how good a player is, especially if the gamerpoints he/she has are particularly hard, but as Sy1441 pointed out someone with a low gamer score is not necessarly a bad gamer.

Some games are too easy for all the 1000 gamer points such as King Kong and some of the 1st EA sport games. I would prefer that a game give you a couple of small easy points to get you started and then make you work for the big points, so that maybe after you 1st complete a game that you have 200-300.

Dead Rising is evenly spread which is nice, as 20 points per item is ok. I do think that maybe for some of the really easy things they should only give you 5, and that way save a couple of 50 point achievements for things that are much harder to do.

As you can see I havent got the biggest score in the world, about 2000 points have occured in the last 2 months, even though I had a Xbox 360 just before Christmas last year.

I've just recently got a 360 and gone online and I'm now playing a lot on the ranked quick matches on Battlefield 2. I've noticed though, that to progress in the "ranks" (above Sergeant 1st class), I am going to be forced to win certain achievements over and above kill points/flag capture points/pph; i.e. get medals etc... So, although gamerpoints may be "mundane" or "pretty useless", it seems that sometimes you have no choice but to try to add to your score.

Agree with you there...I got 50 of my points just for passing basic training in COD2!! Surely a good example of points being given out too easily?

I think gamerpoints should equal live points! That would be excellent!
