    Any recommendations?

Just got a Wii for xmas, never owned a Gamecube, after some games, I will only get if they are a bargain though! May as well save the full price games for my Wii, 360 and PSP!!!

Found Pikmin for £9.99 is that any good?

Pikmin is good (I enjoyed it anyway).

Also you could take a look at RE4, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime (both), Super Mario Sunshine.

If you've never owned a gamecube though, don't forget you'll need a gamecube controller to play GC games.

    F-Zero
    Ikaruga
    Killer 7
    Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
    Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
    Mario Kart: Double Dash
    Metroid Prime
    Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
    Paper Mario
    Pikmin 2
    Resident Evil 4
    Super Mario Sunshine

This would be a good start to any Gamecube collection

    Resident Evil 4
    Mario Kart Double Dash
    Metroid Prime 2
    Harvest Moon: Magical Melody
    Animal Crossing
    F-Zero GX
    Ikaruga

Without listing those games already mentioned(which most I would agree on):

Fire Emblem: Path to Radiance - if you have the slightest interest in tactics games!
Burnout 2 - Best racer on the Gamecube & still looks/plays fantastic, best in the series IMO.
Resident Evil(the original remake) - Have this on it's way to me, reviews sound superb!
Chibi Robo - Haven't bought this yet but it certainly looks different & fun.
Mario Smash Tennis - really shines with four players, not good single player though.

Think the other gems are already covered, can't think of any other must buys that haven't been mentioned yet.

They need to start reissuing these games at a budget range, it wouldn't be far off eBay prices.

Yeah good point, Although Gamestation do some very good deals on GC games even some being 4 for 20 quid :smashin:

Your average good game is 2 for 20 quid while rare games like Skies of Arcadia and Res evil 4 etc are around 29.99.

All of the above. Our households faves:
    Burnout 2
    FIFA games
    Pikmin
Mario Kart DD - great multiplayer & a good personal challenge
Metroid Prime (1 or 2) - fab atmospherics
    Super Mario Sunshine
    Zelda WindBreaker, oops WindWaker

I saw a used Resi 4 at GAME for about £15 recently.. not bad. They seem to have been putting more GC stuff out on the shelves recently. Gamestation often have the best bargains as people trade-in. GC games tend to be keepers, I think, at least I have kept all but two of the titles I have bought. Sold on Timesplitters 2 and Smash Bros Melee, couldn't get into them.

You may find a lot of GC games on FleaBay soon as peeps start to buy Wii games, but the Wii range isn't that big yet... so maybe not

Donkey Kong Jungle Beats - I managed to get the last one online!

I'm also after Gamecube games for the Wii. I currently have (or are being delivered):

Donkey Konga: Jungle Beats + bongos
    Mario Kart Double Dash
    Super Mario Sunshine
    Super Smash Bros Melee
    1080 Avalanche
    Wave Race

    Am still looking for:

    F-Zero GX.

Would like Resiendt Evil 4, but would be unlikely to get for less than £20, and have a few Wii games on pre-order for just over £25 (Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros www.choicesuk.com when they were £27 and 6% off) so can't jusify £20 for a Gamecube game.

Gamecube games seem to be hard to get hold of (especially for a good price) - I expect non-Gamecube Wii owners, like myself, are driving up the prices!

so we can use wii games and gamecube games on the wii.

as i read it can play lots of nintendo games
so nintendo 64 was cartridges ? but available as downloads...

This new console will play fan-favourite games from Nintendo's 20-year-old library. The drive is compatible with GameCube discs, and select Nintendo titles from the original NES of the 1980s all the way through the Nintendo 64 will be available through for download through the Virtual Console. As if that weren't enough, the Virtual Console will also make available a few titles from SNES console contemporaries, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16.
Several new titles have been confirmed for Wii, including Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, as well as Square Enix's Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

Will the new Wii classic controller work with the Gamecube games (Mario Kart DD for instance)?

    Thanks

I've dug out Starfox Adventures and am playing that at the mo'.
Looks great on my plasma, even without my component cables (hurry up Amazon)

Rare really was a loss...what's the word on them developing for anything other than MS?

I've seen it be said that it won't work for GC games....

/snip/Although the Wii Classic Controller is smaller and lighter (and has slightly different control stick and button layouts) than any Nintendo GameCube controller, the Wii Classic controller cannot be used to play any GameCube titles, and there are currently no Wii-specific titles that require a Wii Classic Controller. By contrast, Nintendo GameCube controllers may be used for all GameCube titles and currently all Wii Virtual Console titles/snip/

That is from a reviewer of the classic controller on amazon.

But I'd await a response from someone more "in-the-know" for confirmation.

The button layout is completely different so I can't see it being a good thing if it did work tbh

    Sean :)

Figured I'd try out Resident Evil 4 on me Wii. What I didn't figure was how hard this game is to get hold of now. Looked everywhere and with Ebay not being an option (£35 - 40,00 and upwards used), I finally managed to bag it tonight.

Local classifieds, guy had ltd/edtn Resident evil 4 gamecube, RE4, RE remake, RE0 and a bunch of other games plus extra controllers, mem card etc. Lived just round the corner as it turned out.

Paid £50,00 which ain't too bad I suppose, since I was after RE0, RE remake as well anyway.

Long story short, I got the ressy's I was after and the lad got a console for his room + games. Everyones happy.

Some duffer on E-Bay is trying to palm off just the RE4 Ltd Edt console and some unremarkable cube games for £150,00 used - buy it now  Doesn't even have the RE4 game with it.... I've spotted this RE4 ltd edtn bundle brand new on a few sites for £99,00!

Crazy prices for a game for a console that's *Retired* I must say.

For anyone interested Amazon has RE0, RERemake, RE2, RE3 and RE Code Veronica in stock for around about the £15,00 mark....

Yeah I figured that any game which gets so much positive noise from all the forums I visit (Not to mention the high E-Bay resale value), must be worth a looksee.

Besides which, I just love scary games....

Lights off, Plasma on, surround volume high, extra pair of undy's at hand and off we go!

Yes wavebird or normal GC controller is fine.

Yes you need a normal GC memory card, a 4Mb will be fine for the odd game anymore pickup one of the big ones (64Mb I think but could be wrong :))

I bought two Wavebirds as they are 17.99 at Play.com at the moment and have to say they are much better than the standard cube controllers, Fit your hand like a glove :smashin:

As for MarioKart DD it looks great on the Wii and hasnt aged at all

Can i ask how the wavebirds connect to the wii?

What i mean is do you need to open the Wii flap and plug something (a reciver) in to the wii, or does it sync just like the Wiimotes?

Yes, you just plug a receiver into the GC port of the Wii and unfortunately it protrudes from the top. It would have been great is this functionality was included inside the Wii itself.
