    Hi,

Will this cable allow me to connect my Pal cube to my projectors component inputs and get a picture ok, on their web site it mentions that it will not work with Pal cubes but I have read here on AV that it works fine.

    Could somebody confirm please.

Also has anyone bought gear from this company if so any problems.

    http://www.gibsoft.com/detail.asp?prod_code=232

    Thanks
    Klippie.

The PAL GC doesnt output in component or give out prog scan for that matter. It meant purely for NTSC machines

    That's incorrect bash :).

The Pal Cube outputs interlaced Component via the official Nintendo Component Cable every bit as good as an NTSC machine. It will work great with your Projector.

I haven't used Gibsoft. It's not widely available from UK Importers because demand is low but you can import from the US/HK yourself for a better price.

    I use:

http://www.tronixweb.com and http://www.ncsx.com (both US based).

The Component Cable works without a hitch on the Pal Cube Bash - no question about it. If you're having problems, I don't know what to suggest .

Progressive Scan is reported to work by some but even the Interlaced pic quality is exceptionally good. Frees up the analogue port for audio only as well :smashin:.

Yep i'll third it, i had a UK and Jap/US GC before freeloader was released and the official Jap Component cable worked fine on both, only interlaced though on my Toshiba 36ZP18.
I have since sold my pal GC and bought a copy of freeloader but the pal GC has no problem's outputting interlaced Component.

Anyway if Groundy says it does then it does :smashin:

It has been 10 weeks since I ordered my component cable from Gibsoft. I have emailed them numerous times and received no reply - AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE ! ! !

    Klippie,

Has your cable turned up yet?

I am still trying to get a response from Gibsoft after nearly three months of waiting.

Bibooo, I orded this cable from Gibsoft about the same time that Klippie did. After reading your post I emailed them to see when it would arive. They replied in about 2 hours and said that they were no longer taking credit card orders so I got it from lik-sang. Cable came in 4 days.

    bibooo,

NO, after much e-mailing and trying to contact them by phone last week to hell with them.

I will order the cable from Lik-Sang tonight.

I can't understand companies who advertise goods and then not have the decency to honour the order as its in their own interest to do so instead of wasting peoples time waitng for the delivery, its their loss.

Thanks for the info Klippie and AshF, I will phone Gibsoft and let them know just how unprofessional they are. They have already taken my money (Feb 14th), and are still not replying to my emails.

IF ANYONE IS THINKING OF BUYING ANYTHING FROM GIBSOFT, DON'T !

    bibooo,

I checked with my credit card company to see if Gibsoft had taken any money from me, they had not as of Friday. I explained my grief with Gibsoft to them and they told me to write a letter telling them the odrer was cancelled but they could not block Gibsoft from using my card.

I will send then an e-mail doing just that.

    zoolap,

If your PC monitor has component connections it should work fine, as for projectors the same applies.

Well mine has component d-sub 15pin which the prov has. It also has 5 cable component. I might invest in one of these cables then as it could got to the monitor via a prov. Also I expect the quality from component to vga monitor will be better than composite to vga monitor.

Groundy, you mention using the analogue out for an audio only connection; are there any audio only cables out there?

No specific Audio Only cables t-force - you just need the official Nintendo (or 3rd party) Composite Video/Audio L/R cable and leave the Composite RCA Phono unplugged (or cut it off altogether if you want ;)).

Zoolap, the device you linked to should work fine for your needs as it has upscan conversion.

If you can be bothered, you could remove the yellow video RCA connector completely by dismantling the connector (easy peasy), and carefully removing it from the 'head'. Then you just peel the wire off the other two cables.

    That's what I did, anyway. ;)

I got the Premium (hmmm) Multi purpose vga box (http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_87&products_id=431) on Saturday.

Tried it out with my PAL cube and composite lead and was quite unimpressed. I've considered sending it back, but what I thought I'd do was order a component cable. I ordered this from LikSang. Hope I get it soon and hope it improves things. I just can't afford the likes of an iscan pro. It would be nice if next gen consoles all had vga output functionality (even if only 640x480).

Would any of the upconverters here give me better quality than one of these premium (yeah sure!) box?

I have a PAL gamecube with official Nintendo component cable.

    Hi All,

I shuddered when I saw the name Gibsoft mention in this thread. Of all the dozens of online suppliers I've used - with varying degrees of success - they are the only ones I have to admit that I actually HATE

    Pretend they don't exist!
