Emailed the Beeb about this yesterday to find out when, if ever (!), Series 2 & 3 would be released on DVD.

    Here is their reply:

    Dear <Squirrel God>,

Thank you for your recent email

I am afraid that we have no information available regarding the product you require, the BBC do not own the rights to sell this program. All sales rights are owned by VCI.

I would like to apologise we could not assist you further

    Kinds Regards

Very disappointing! This seems to be happening a lot with BBC programming. Rights to DVD seem to be held elsewhere for parts or all of a series, so we never quite get what we want :(

I have emailed VCI to enquire further. Fingers crossed :)

Yup, that's my point to them. I've held off buying Series 1 because there seems little point without also having Series 2 & 3.
I've enquired with VCI whether there might be a boxset too, and am hoping they reply positively on that front as well.

I don't know about that series 1 was far better than 2 or 3.

I am more concerned with the West Wing In US Bravo have signed an exclusive deal to show the repeats at a costly figure of $1 million per episode. Aparently one of the conditions is they would not release the dvd in the US while the repeats were being aired

So are they going to release seasons 2 and 3 in the near future? I'll not hold my breath

This happens a lot. I'm still waiting for series 2 of the following:

    This Life
    Black Books
    The Office
    Phoenix Nights
    etc....
Not to mention the one and only series of The Day Today
...and Ben Elton's finest work - Filthy Rich & Catflap

This Life in particular is annoying. One of the best drama series ever, and S1 came out years ago. Needless to say, S2 is available on VHS.

Which brings me to another point - why does VHS get initial release of the Buffy/Angel series? Why is Buffy S7 available now on VHS but not even a proposed release date on DVD?

I can understand wanting to buy the box set but if it so happens that they don't release both series 2 and 3 in the near future, does that then mean that you won't buy series 1 even though you obviously enjoyed it?
