A casting call is out for season 8
Game of Thrones is Casting Tiny Tots for Season 8
Game of Thrones to shoot multiple endings of final season to stop story leaks
That's a great decision. I was fed up with those leaks. Hope they will make at least 10 episodes in season 8.
Yeah, but what if you don't like the "official" ending, knowing there are other endings you might like? Will they make all the endings available on blu ray so that we can pick the one we like? I often wish life wasn't so complicated
Nope there will be only 6 episodes but some believe (I don't) they could all be like 80 minutes long.
and be released at the cinema every week
I presumed the episodes would be longer, hence the longer delay in screening.
Total minutes for S8 will probably still be less than any of S1-6 & there's no word yet(?) on predicted S8 premiere. Guess it'll depend on how more wintry filming, big battles & SFX be to produce.
to me the obviousness of some of the themes of season 7 -
dany will deffo be pregnant, which is juxtaposed by cescei being pregnant... i see sansa dying as her life has been dominated by littlefinger who is now dead (for that matter i see dany dying(not sure about the unborn child) Jon will be the third dragon rider, arya will be the lady of winterfell, it will be jamie who kills cersei and Jon sits on the throne after killing the king whitewalker (after the great war, which everyone has to fight, as a targayren and a stark (possible with his child at his side)(that is my ending)this doesn't cover everything but the main bits
Each episode in the final season is expected to cost $15 million

'Game of Thrones' star: season 8 to film until next summer
Yeah it's unfortunately looking like a Westworld jobby, and I doubt we'll see anymore Thrones for another 18 months.
It's going to be a horrendous wait.

Crikey, I remember when Space: Above and Beyond was canned due to low ratings but also that it cost $2M per episode. Those were the days.
Game of Thrones does foreshadowing like no other: The Jon Snow Easter egg you almost definitely missed
I don't see that as foreshadowing, it's just someone mentioning a character of the show's past, which I'm pretty sure happened a few times.
Even Castle Black's Maester mentioned Egg, is that forshadowing? If he'd been pointing at Jon whilst doing so, then probably yes, but he wasn't

Imax Concedes ‘Marvel Inhumans’ Experiment Let Down Moviegoers
The saga of the screen adaptation of Marvel’s Inhumans has finally gotten a public assessment, with Imax CEO Rich Gelfond blaming its disappointing reception, at least in theaters, on a “misalignment of customer expectations.”
“Going forward, we intend to take a more conservative approach consistent with the Game of Thrones approach to capital investments and content,” Gelfond said on the call.

Excellent Idea !!
Sophi Turner says it will not air until 2019
Yeah I think it's a joke to be honest having to wait that long. Likely toward the 2nd half of 2019 it'll be as well.
Especially given that it sounds like they've already done a fair bit of filming too. The same thing happened with Westworld, and being honest I've lost some interest in that now. Far too long a gap between season's.
I understand they've said each episode will be feature length, but it's a long time to ask fans to wait. As bad as Martin with the books!
A little harsh. I think they've done a great job in keeping the series ticking along - one season a year from 2011 to this year.
I don't mind the wait. Martin's had 21 years to tell his story and still has two more volumes to bring out. The TV series has outpaced him and the end is in sight (albeit some way off).
I don't think so. I'm sure Winter 2018 could be achieved. And then be in line with the fact it's Winter in real life too! [emoji23] That still gives them another 12 months.
It's bad enough having to wait as long as we do for shows to return, but I do appreciate the creative processes involved. I just feel 2019 is dragging it a little too far.
