I've not used this yet but I would like to start using it.

When you start it up and start recording can you unsnap it so it record in the background and doesn't take up screen space?

Does the Xbox One always record the last 5 minutes of gameplay if the app is running or not? If it records while the app hasn't started can I just says "Xbox snap Game DVR" and then select end recording to get my last 5 minutes (or under) of gameplay?

Also does it record my voice chat?

If you have Kinect setup and GAME DVR option turned on in Settings then its always recording.

There are a few ways to use. When in a game at any point you can say ' Xbox Record That ' a message will appear in top right and then a clip recorded message will appear. This will record the last 30 seconds. Nice and easy for something little in game.

If you want to record last 5 minutes, just say 'Xbox Snap Game DVR'
Then you click end clip, then you get the option to keep last, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2/3 or 5 minutes.
Just say which one you want or select using the controller and once it says its done then you can unsnap it.

You only need to snap it if you are wanting to record something more than 30 seconds.

Then you go to upload later on and check your clips you have recorded or check notifications on the dash.

Sounds like it's not what I am looking for :(

I've used the "Xbox Record That" function a lot but wanted more than 30 seconds but I don't want to use up part of my screen for the Game DVR.

Once its captured the last 5 mins you just unsnap it. Takes about 15 seconds in total maybe. You don't need it snapped for the whole 5 mins.

It is only snapped to the side while you select how much of the previous five minutes of gameplay you want to record, it is not snapped to the side while actually recording.

Thanks! It sounds like something I'll use as I don't want something snapped while it is recording.
