About to take the plunge with a Game Cube and would be interested to hear which games you guys feel are the top five on that console at the moment and which are the 'killer' games on the horizon.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Zelda, Metroid and SCII are all arriving with the GC (I hope!)

Is the cube really basically limited to Mario Kart and F-Zero for racing games?

    No!

I've alway enjoyed realistic simulations personally and have enjoyed many an hour with F1 2002.
Likewise Burnout 2 is excellent, game review here., check out the rest of the reviews while your at it ;)

I would also strongly suggest you get yourself a copy of Eternal Darkness, superb :smashin:

    Enjoy

Well for GC only titles I would say are great, but they are the worst for multi-format titles.

Either PS2 for EA games, which are only online on PS2 and then the others on XBOX for better graphics and online play. GC offers no official online support at all.

Metroid, Super Monkey Ball 2, Resi Evil games, Zelda, Wario are all good.

Steer clear of Mario Sunshine, one awful game. Also I feel Mario Kart on GC is very lukewarm.

Games to look forward to Animal Crossing 2 and Pikmin 2 look like being good.

Dunno why you posted this in online gaming though.

    I'm feeling the irony ;)

Super Monkey Ball 2! It's got monkeys!

Oh, and it's £17.99 at play.com right now!.

I've only just ordered it myself and haven't played it yet, but if the prequel and a mountain of favourable comment are anything to go by, then it's a great game. And it's got monkeys!

Right, off to remove the exclamation mark-holding '1' key... :D

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS! :smashin:

Yeah, Mario Sunshine was a great game... If you have lots of friends to play with and 4 controllers, why not get Mario Party 4 or 5? I played Mario Party 2 but 4 and 5 have got to be great. Zelda's a brill RPG. The best beat-em-up friends game I've played is Super Smash Bros Melee. You can have over 4 players! Mario Kart DD is kewl too. I regret getting rid of it now... :(
