I have been reading the Gallo threads with interest and was wondering what Amps/cables are being partnered with the Gallo speakers.

I am fairly new to AV and will be starting from scratch, although I am pretty much hooked on my choice of speaker. :)

    thanks,
    Kalef

    Hi Kalef,
Welcome to the forums. Whats your budget regarding your amp?
A lot of the guys are using Denon 3802's and Arcam 200's. I think these are a good starting point. Of course, the further up the ladder in quality you go, the better the Gallo's will sound.

    Hi Eric
Would you say the Sony STR-VA555ES is a step up from the Denon as What HiFi suggest?

    Mick,
No, the Denon and Arcam are the two best amps at their price points (for now)

Hi Eric, I was looking at the Sony STR-VA555ES @£729. £800 would be the max as far as the Amp goes.

I will mainly be using it for AV but want to get good stereo without having to go the seperate Amp route.
