Thinking of buying a pair of Gale 3040s to go with my Rotel RA820AX amp. I now have Mission 761s and find the sound very disappointing - I have a largish room 10m x 5m.

Does anyone have any advice on the Gales - is there anything better for £200? Will my amp cope with them?

    Thanks!

Speaking candidly (the Gale brand manager is in the next room), the 3040 is an aquired taste. It has a fair amount of wallop for a slim cabinet and the sound is warm side of neutral- although perhaps that's me working with metal tweeters all day. On the understanding you can take any RS purchased product back for exchange, they're worth a look, as the 773e at the same price has many aspects in common with the 761- although is still worth a look. Outside of the Richer group, some retailers have some interesting models for sale at £200 so look around.
