    Hi,

I have a choice between a Samsung Galaxy S3, an iPhone 5 and a Nokia Lumia for a free upgrade. The iPhone could also be the iPhone 4 if I wished. The network will be 3G, not 4G.

Which one should I get, I am not a techie guru when it comes to mobile phones, I make/receive calls and send/receive texts and thats about it?

Any advice on the relative merits of the above phones most appreciated.

If you don't do much with your phone any would be perfectly fine

The lumia is nice and simple and easy to use (like the iphine) but benefits from a nice large screen.

For a simple user the iphone5 is good as it doesn't let you do much tinkering so you're not leftfeeling ooverwhelmed.

See if you can get the htc one (not the one x) that's a great phone

Which Lumia? Hopefully the 920, as it's the only one that competes with the other two.

ive got an iphone 5 and love it in fact i got rid of a galaxy s3 to get it...so you know my choice

ive never used a windows phone so have no opinion

for a basic normal phone(that also does everything if you need) the iphone 5 is hard to beat it looks and feels great its smooth fast and stable its not stupidly big and if you ever get rid resale values are solid...android phones fly down in price pretty fast

It's a corporate upgrade so we only get offered 3 choices for smartphones which were the 3 indicated. For the iPhone there are sub choices between 4, 4s and 5.

On balance, as I am not a phone techie and have quite basic usage I think I will opt for the iPhone 5.

Thank you all for your replies, most appreciated.

I'd go for the iPhone 5 if it's for corporate use. Windows Phone has some way to go before it's 100% ready for that, whereas the iPhone has matured quite nicely for corporate use. It's not perfect by any means, but it's by far the best bet from those you've mentioned.

Kind of ironic considering the stranglehold WP6.x had on the corporate world...

Absolutely! It's just simple things, like EAS subfolder support, the way it handles meeting invitations sent from the phone itself, the boring every day stuff.

Another recommendation for iPhone 5 for easy of use and simplicity to do the basic things you listed. I'll rule out the Nokia on account of the size and poorer battery life.

For business use I prefer Windows Phone of the three main OS (currently using an Ativ S). Calls, messaging, Outlook (plus wider office suite, Lync) integration and email all work better for me under that use on our corporate set up. Presumably, as it's offered there shouldn't be any security obstacles. Failing that go Apple. Simple and does the job without fuss.

As much as I love Android, solely for business and basic communication I'd put it bottom of the pile (based on my experience with Note 2 and Nexus).

    I think I posed a thread elsewhere regarding 5s vs 5c vs 5

I suggest iPhone 5. Samsung is hard to held. I don't know much about Lumia series.

Don't know about nokia, not had the apple but have a s3. If I had the choice I would choose apple or HTC.

    Not happy with the s3...:banghead:
